Screen Print

Screen printing is the process of using a silk screens to deposit a design on a garment or other item. A special compound is used to block out negative space so when we put ink through the screen, it only goes in the desired locations.

Water based inks and plastisol inks do similar things in completely different ways. The difference is similar to water and oil based paints. Water based is based in water. It is easier to clean from your hands and equipment, but the learning curve can be steeper. Plastisol on the other hand is a plastic based ink. It is much harder to clean, but the learning curve is much easier. It has a different drying requirement so is more forgiving. Plastisol ink is easier to get bright bold colors (it can be done with water based too, though). The environmental impact of water based ink is a big plus to some. Water based ink is very easy on the environment since there are barely any toxins. Water based is also typically softer and lighter on the garment.

The best way to start an order is to go to the Screen Print page and fill out the form near the bottom of the page. This is where you will explain a lot of your project so that when we respond we can get straight to business. The hope is that we would have almost enough information from the first form to give an accurate price. Please be as thorough as possible.
